Haelan belongs to a tribe of Solkys, a nomadic people in the world of Blacksent. Most Solkys have talents of magical nature; usually healing. Haelan heals empathically, entering the person’s pain, taking the illness into herself, and then dissipating it.
An innocent to the ways of the world, she is drawn into Ncon’s quest seemingly by Zandor’s seditious assistance, but it is her inability to stand by when someone is suffering that leads her to find her own strength and destiny.
